Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee

The Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee (ABAC) was appointed by the Board of Selectmen in 1996 to advise the town on local bicycling conditions.  The all-volunteer committee promotes all forms of safe bicycling on town roadways and the Minuteman Bikeway — from recreational riding to using the bicycle for transportation and errands.

ABAC meetings

Check out ABAC's meeting schedule.

ABAC meets monthly to discuss bicycle-related topics and issues in town (usually on the first Monday night of the month). ABAC meetings are posted in advance and open to the public. To receive occasional announcements and updates by e-mail, sign up for our mailing list.

Map of bicycle routes in Arlington

Thanks to ABAC supporter Doug Greenfield for producing a new bike-route map of Arlington (October 2008).

New bikeway banners

New banners were installed above the bikeway entrances in Arlington Center (May 2008).

Wear a helmet

BE COOL and ride safe. Always wear a helmet when riding your bike.

Accidents happen sometimes, and it's important to protect your head in case of sudden impact. We strongly urge you to wear a protective helmet while bicycling.
